FOUR TO FOLLOW FROM GRAHAM RICHARDS NATIONAL HUNT 16/17 GUIDE

Details at grahamrichardsonline.co.uk

Ar Mad (FR) 6-y-o (11Apr10 b g) Tiger Groom – Omelia (FR) (April Night (FR) (9.9f))

Gary Moore

Had his season curtailed by injury following his win at Plumpton. Mr Moore reports he has done exceptionally well over the summer carrying more condition than last year. Likely to prove best on good to soft or softer ground, around right-handed tracks. Jumps for fun, goes well fresh, while the Tingle Creek at Sandown Park is his pre-Christmas target.

Baden (FR) 5-y-o (31Mar11 gr g) Martaline (14.3f) – Ma Sonate (USA) (Val De L´Orne (FR) (13.9f))

Nicky Henderson

Irish-Point winner that starts the season a maiden over hurdles. Best run came when third over two and half-miles at Punchestown in April. Mr Henderson has been pleased with his development over the summer. Considered the type to go well fresh and appreciate galloping tracks. Two and half-miles and further on good or better ground should see him off the mark.

Messire Des Obeaux (FR) 4-y-o (17May12 b g) Saddler Maker (IRE) – Madame Lys (FR) (Sheyrann)

Alan King

Two promising runs over hurdles in 2016 since arriving from France. A scopey horse with potential, he will make a decent chaser one day. However, hurdles will be the order of the day and he has the option of novice or handicap hurdle races. A full-brother to Bouvreuil, he will stay up to two and a half-miles.

Orchard Thieves (IRE) 4-y-o (15Apr12 b g) Ask (10.7f) – Ballycleary (IRE) (Phardante (FR) (12.7f))

David Pipe

Second in an Irish-Point Orchard Thieves cost £115,000 at Cheltenham’s Sales in March 2016. The third from that race won a Bumper at Hexham while the fourth home won an Irish-Point. Whilst a novice hurdle career beckons, he may run in a Bumper. Should prove effective over two and a half-mile and upwards on good to soft or softer. Trainer has been pleased with his progress over the summer.

Volnay De Thaix (FR) Here’s are the excerpts for 2 of the winners, Many Clouds and Royal Regatta: Many Clouds (IRE) 6-y-o (21Apr07 br g) Cloudings (IRE) (12.2f) – Bobbing Back (IRE) (Bob Back (USA) (12.4f)) Despite disappointing at Aintree, Many Clouds had an excellent first season over hurdles. He has pleased his trainer with his well-being and schooling. Many Clouds handles good through to heavy. He will prove effective over two and half to three-miles. Best on a galloping track; he should make an impression in his novice chase season. Royal Regatta (IRE) 5-y-o (25Mar08 b g) King´s Theatre (IRE) (11.4f) – Friendly Craic (IRE) (Mister Lord (USA) (12.0f)) Bolted up in a Bumper at Haydock Park this March. On good or softer ground, round a galloping track, he is expected to win his novice hurdle before progressing through the ranks. Royal Regatta has done well over the summer and pleased his trainer in schooling sessions. Aintree 27 October: With three flights omitted, his jumping wasn´t fully tested. However, he is a promising young hurdler that can defy a penalty before aiming higher. He wouldn´t want to go any further than two and a half miles. 2 horses from National Hunt Guide ran today – Thursday

Two horses ran today that are featured in our upcoming National Hunt Guide 2013-2014 (pdf) by Graham Richards. If you would like to pre-order the guide you can do so here – pre-order National Hunt Guide for £12. Free members can pre-order via the My Profile link on the top menu. Community Members will be able to download the Guide as part of their membership. You can sign up as a Community Member for £6 per month. Here are the entries from the Guide for Twelve Roses and Our Kaempfer. Underneath in italics are Graham’s post race comments which you can receive if you subscribe to his service – more info at www.grahamrichardsonline.co.uk. Twelve Roses 2.20 Exeter He has done well over the summer, is considered well-handicapped, in need of a galloping track, and good ground. Despite being a winner on good ground, Twelve Roses disliked the unwatered ground at Exeter. He changed his legs throughout the race, while his hurdling was rusty as he tired in the final half-mile. Easier ground will see him in a better light and he will sharpen up for the run. Our Kaempfer 3.30 Worcester Finished third in an Irish-Point and works well at home. Full-brother to two Bumper winners. Our Kaempfer hosed up at Worcester. The only danger coming, when he jinked at the paddock gate half a furlong from home. A highly promising individual, he will not be overfazed this season. Twelve Roses finished a promising second at Exeter and Our Kaempfer was a very impressive winner at Worcester.
